Moderator

Yang Lee is an Associate Professor of MIS, and Faculty Director of MS in Business Analytics at Northeastern University. She was the founding Editor-In-Chief for ACM Journal of Data and Information Quality. Lee investigates the role of differentiated quality of data and related mechanisms in the context of extended organizational and strategic transformation. Currently, she explores changing data products for healthcare industry and medical errors. Lee’s work includes numerous prestigious journal publications, as well as several books, including Journey to Data Quality (MIT Press, 2006), Data Quality (Kluwer Academic Publishers, 2000), and Quality Information and Knowledge (Prentice Hall, 1999). Her research has been embraced worldwide, having been translated into several languages and used in universities, industries, and governments. She has also put her research results into practice, providing consultation and solutions for companies and agencies in the private and public sectors in the US and internationally.

Panelist:

Xiaobai (Bob) Li is a Professor of Information Systems in the Department of Operations and Information Systems at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. His research focuses on data science, business analytics, data privacy, and information economics. He has received funding for his research from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and National Science Foundation (NSF). His work has appeared in Information Systems Research, Management Science, MIS Quarterly, Operations Research, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, Decision Sciences, INFORMS Journal on Computing, IEEE Transactions, Decision Support Systems, Communications of the ACM, and European Journal of Operational Research, among others. He currently serves as an associate editor for Information Systems Research, Decision Support Systems, ACM Journal of Data and Information Quality, and Information Technology and Management.

Panelist:

Pratyush Bharati is a Professor of Management Information Systems at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. His research interests are in social media analytics, big data, and green information systems. He received the 2013-14 Fulbright Senior Researcher award. He is the Senior Editor of The Data Base for Advances in Information Systems Journal and has served on the Editorial Review Board of IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management. He is a Distinguished Member of Association for Information Systems (AIS) and has served as the President of AIS Special Interest Group on Green Information Systems (SIGGreen).

Panelist:

Janis Gogan is a Professor in the department of Information & Process Management at Bentley University, in Waltham Massachusetts. She teaches and conducts research on strategic IT management. Her CV lists more than 50 journal publications and more than 100 conference presentations on health care IT, emerging-IT pilot testing, and other strategic IT management topics. She serves on editorial or advisory boards of Case Research Journal, Health Policy & Technology, JAIS, JIT and JMIS; and recently served as track co-chair for ICIS 2016 and ICIS 2018, and Conference Co-Chair for AMCIS 2017. Gogan conducts workshops on rigorous and relevant (“Double Impact”) case research. Her many teaching cases on strategic IT management topics have been discussed at universities around the world.

Panelist:

Sandeep Purao is a Trustee Professor with the Information & Process Management Group at Bentley University. Immediately prior to joining Bentley, he was Professor, College of Information Sciences and Technology, and Research Director for the Center for Enterprise Architecture at Penn State University. His research involves design and evaluation of techno-organizational solutions for organizational and societal problems. He has published 100+ articles in academic journals and conferences. He serves / has served on editorial boards of several premier academic journals and has completed consulting assignments for financial institutions and software houses. He holds a PhD in Management Science and has prior training in management, accounting and law.
